Dynamons 9 is another battle-arena adventure game from the popular monster fighting series. As with other versions, the player creates a team of monsters to fight in one-on-one turn-based battles against wild Dynamons and other teams led by trainers and captains. Their ultimate goals are to make the all-time most powerful team and become a new captain. They also attempt to complete special tasks and earn crystal shards, powerful items and coins.
This game introduces fights in unique areas of a Halloween-themed landscape with outdoor battle zones that lead to a pumpkin-headed character in a haunted castle. The knowledgeable guide Jovani introduces them to all aspects of gameplay in this land, which is almost identical to the action, moves and rewards in previous in-world regions and games.
All Dynamons have elemental powers from different natural sources that include air, earth, fire and water. For example, beyond one monster slashing at another monster with their claws, they might attack by drawing the air and life out of their opponent or use churning fire, floating mist or even sonic waves. The player also uses power-up items to attack and access other useful capabilities, like healing. To use some items, the player must view videos.
Dynamons 9 allows the player to capture weakened wild and trained Dynamons just before the end of a fight so they can add specific monsters to their team. The player then uses shards to level up their team monsters from time to time for better attack, defense and aiming outcomes.
